The Wisdom Of Green
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency defines green as “…the ability to achieve continuing economic prosperity while protecting the natural systems of the planet and providing a high quality of life for its people.” What this means to us at Bee Alive is taking seriously our responsibility to make the effort to care for the planet in the ways that we can.
To this end, we make every effort within our offices, lunch rooms and warehouse to recycle. Likewise, we print literature and packaging using recycled paper and boards whenever possible, and our products are packaged in glass and recyclable plastics. Most importantly, we encourage all of our customers to recycle our packaging once they are finished using it, even when it requires a little extra special effort. We thank you!
Useful Tip! Do you know how long things remain in a landfill?
glass bottle — forever / unknown
plastic jug — 1 million years
Glass, for example, is an inert substance and so is not directly harmful to the environment, but it is not degradable either. So when a glass bottle is sent to a landfill site it will stay there indefinitely, which is a real shame because glass is such an easy and very useful material that can be recycled over and over again without any loss to quality. This is why we ask all our customers to recycle both our glass and plastic containers!
